There's so much going on astrologically in 2026. I'm reminded of the lyrics in Hamilton, "...How lucky we are to be alive right now!"
All of the outer planets - Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and, yes, Pluto are changing signs within the span of a little over a year, which hasn't happened for thousands and thousand of years. Changes like these indicate major shifts in the collective. Yes, there will definitely be significant events along the way, but that's just the old dark energy rising to the surface so that it can be released. The energy is moving faster, and changes will happen quickly - personally and collectively.
May 2026 has a lot of potential for both positive and negative changes. The New Moon on May 16th at 1:01pm PDT is at 25, almost 26, degrees of Taurus. The next day, on May 17th, Mercury enters Gemini, where it remains until June 1st.
While that happens every year, this year Mercury conjuncts Uranus at 1 degree of Gemini on the 17th. Mercury rules Gemini, and Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, representing the collective mind, so it's especially strong here. This can bring surprises in the media, unexpected news, and sudden events having to do with the internet, earthquakes, or geomagnetic storms and electrical disruptions.
Because this is in Gemini, known for gossip and unreliability, fact-checking is highly recommended. Don't believe everything you hear or read.
Because life is rich and complex, we can all expect positive things to happen around May 18th, when two personal planets change signs - on the same day! Venus in Cancer and Mars in Taurus are in favorable relationships with each other, as well as with Neptune and Pluto, so the good news extends to everyone who's receptive and focused on everyone's highest good.
On May 25th, Mars, the planet of action and physical activity, is in a challenging aspect to Pluto, which can indicate major events that affect the collective in a significant way. We'll see. This transit lasts about 3 days.
On May 31st, we have a Full Moon at 9 degrees of Gemini/Sagittarius. The next day Mercury moves into Cancer - another lunation followed by a sign change. These are not ordinary times, as Venus moves into Leo on June 13th, one day before the New Moon at 24 Gemini.
There's a potent period at the end of May. Mars enters Gemini, encouraging lots of communication, media wars, verbal challenges (not good for diplomacy) - again, one day before the Full Moon on June 29th at 8 Cancer, and on the same day Mercury, which rules Gemini, goes retrograde (until July 23rd).
You may find yourself glued to your screens, watching social media or simply wondering what's true and what;'s not. Your answers are always inside of you. Getting quiet, unplugging yourself, and getting out in nature in order to listen to your own inner guidance is the only way to navigate these times.
