Here’s a story to let you know that happiness really is in our heads.
In an experiment done by Cornell University researchers, individuals were given an fMRI (a test that measures brain activity) and two glasses of the exact same wine. They were told that one glass contained wine that cost $5 a bottle, and the other contained wine that cost $45 a bottle. Their brains were scanned as they drank, and the images showed they experienced more pleasure from the “pricier” wine.
It turns out that the joy that we get from something depends only on the meaning that we give to it. So how you choose to think about a person, an experience or an event will determine the result that you get from it. In other words, the power to live a happy life is in our heads. Isn't that great to know?
Speaking of which, if you’d like to learn some practical tools for choosing better feeling thoughts about any subject, please join me for my next series of classes. The subject for this series is, Happiness: Finding It, Keeping It and Creating More of It.
For those of you who can’t make it to a class in person, I’m offering a five-week, one-hour teleclass on Wednesdays from 5-6pm PST, (8-9pm EST), starting March 5th. Advance signup is required.
Local classes continue on Tuesdays at 7pm and Fridays at noon.
Scientists who study happiness have discovered that: (1) happiness is a choice, (2) happiness is contagious, and
(3) happiness fuels success, not the other way around.
Join us for this ongoing series of classes to learn how to use the power of your mind to choose happier thoughts and lessen the effect of negative thoughts. You’ll see the world around you change to reflect your happier attitude and discover yourself becoming a powerful positive influence in the lives of the people around you.
Each week we’ll practice simple tools and techniques for turning negative thoughts into positive ones and creating positive changes in your life, your work, and your relationships. You'll not only find yourself contributing your own personal "good news" stories, but you’ll leave each class feeling better than when you came in.
There are two different class times to choose from. Both classes will have the same content and the location is the same for both.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My current favorite quote:
Say yes to whatever it is. Because if you say yes to it and then you get in the middle of it, and you say,
"Uh oh, this isn't really turning out the way I wanted it to," then out of that is born another desire. And as you say yes to that, then it turns out. And you say, "Well, it's still not quite right." So you have another desire... Until eventually you get it exactly right. You cannot get it wrong.
No creation is ever complete. Just do it.
